Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
October came and went as fast as all the months, but it ended on a pretty good note. The last couple of days there was a strong east breeze, but it still didn't stop the islamorada deep sea fishing boats from getting out! Sometimes when it's a little windy to venture way "offshore", the reef is the place to be! Yesterday the Reel McCoy did a 1/2 day morning trip and focused on sailfish, they wound up catching and releasing 2 of them. They also had a handful of suprise mahi. The mahi season is winding down, but there will be a handful here and there the next month I'm sure. The Man O War has been doing very well bottom fishing on the reef. Over there last couple of trips they've had some big mutton snapper up to 13 lbs, black grouper, big mangrove snappers to 5 lbs, and some yellowtail snapper. Bottom fishing on the reef usually makes for great action, keeping multiple anglers busy, as well as great dinner! The catch 22 also had a handful of mahi the other day, with some snappers in addition to it. The Fearless made it out to the hump one day a few days back and had good rod bending action with blackfin tunas. They were "footballs" in the 3 - 5 lb range. Capt. Charlie on the Bn'M had a great catch a few days ago with a handful of mahi, inlcuding a big 25 lb bull, as well as some mutton snapper, margate, and a few other reef species. Florida Keys Fishing in November should be good, so give us a call at 305 664 2461 and book your Islamorada fishing charter!
