Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Down around Port Albert and corner inlet at the moment the gummy fishing has been good. Snapper reports from the area are quiet, but it is normally around the start of December when they start filtering through corner inlet.
Customer Jack from team Jackmac sent in a report from the area on the weekend. Jack caught this ripper gummy just outside the Port Albert entrance in 18m of water. The preferred bait was a chunk of freshly caught mullet fished on a 6/0 circle hook.
For anglers staying inside the estuary, there have been good numbers of mullet and the occasional whiting caught from around the pier at Port Welshpool on small strips of squid and pipi.
