11-27-13 Deep Sea Fishing at the end of November

We have our first "real" cold front coming through tonight, with a low of 57 degrees! This big weather change should definitely spark up the fishing too. Fishing has been good the past week, although the weather was less than favorable the last couple of days. The sailfish bite has been steady for the boats who put their time in. Most days a boat or two will do very well and most of the other boats will have a release or two. Two great catches were the Relentless releasing 7 sailfish one day, as well as the Catch 22 releasing 5 another day. A lot of other boats released sails over the past week too, including the Fearless, Man O War, Reel McCoy, Pretty Work, Gon fishin V, Kalex, and the Predator. The bottom fishing has been very good too. There's been lots of yellowtail snapper caught, and the Kalex has been on a tear with mutton snapper, catching 5 or 6 each of his last couple trips, from 5 - 13 lbs! The king mackerel are also starting to show up in better numbers, so get ready to fire up that smoker to make some fish dip! Also when the deep sea fishing boats are sailfishing there has been some rod bending action with bonitos (Little tunny), a couple blackfin tuna, and some jacks. I expect to see some great fishing here after Thanksgiving, so stay tuned for more Islamorada Fishing Reports! This cold front should turn on both the bottom fishing for grouper as well as the sailfish on top! Give us a call at the marina office 1 800 742 7945 to book your Florida Keys Fishing Trip Today!
