Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
There have still been a few nice pinkies coming in from the shore for anglers. The areas around Mordialloc and Brighton piers have been producing the odd fish to around 3kg on baits of squid and pilchard. Off the rocks around Mt Martha and further down at Phillip Island there have also been a few pinkies caught. Customer Radovan fished from the rocks off Phillip Island over the weekend where he caught pinkies around 2kg and also a few salmon to 1kg, with salted pilchards on a paternoster rig the most successful setup.
If you are a landbased fisherman or just unsure of where you can fish from the shoreline around the bays, the new landbased fishing guides from AFN will be very useful. They are hot of the printer and will be a landbased fisherman's best friend; with details about all of the most productive shore based fishing spots around both bays, including best times, tides and baits, along with directions to get to them all. Best of all, they make a perfect Christmas gift for any angler.
