With the inconsistent weather around this summer the fishing for Murray cod has also been a little inconsistent. A few warmer spells and fluctuations in water levels have brought the cod into feeding mode. Some nice cod have been caught in Lake Mulwala with yabbies and lures working well. 1/2 oz spinnerbaits have been easier to keep around structure in the wind.Customers Max and Mick fished the Ovens river further up near Bundalong recently where they targeted some of the deeper holes in the river. Using a mixture of baits including cheese, they caught a few nice cod to around 12lb. The guys found that the earlier morning bite was the best.
