Hello everyone,

I sorry for the late report but I was down with a very bad flu virus. I am happy to report that the 8th Annual Diamond Classic Catch and Release Sturgeon Derby was another grand success. We had 350+ adults and 121 kids. We had close to 90 fish released with 41 legal harvestable sturgeon. All fish were released to fight another day. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my sponsors, all my volunteers and everyone that helped out to make this a big success. All the kids we able to sign up and fish for free. I was very happy to see the pier program with the volunteers and equipment they supplied for the kids go very well. Thanks to all the support from everyone all 121 kids were able to go home with prizes and T-shirts. All in all it was a fun day of fishing for everyone while learning to respect and preserve our fishery. I look forward to next year for an even bigger event with more kids.
