The fishing in Islamorada has been good the last few days. Flat calm weather has warmed the waters up nicely and the daytime tarpon bite has been good. Lots of fish reported all throughout the typical 'tarpon grounds'. Capt. Chris Daly had a great day yesterday with multiple tarpon. He has also had some fun action on the flats with redfish sightfishing. Capt. Jeff Beeler reported good action in the gulf with permit, and some tarpon back deep in the everglades off the mainland today as well as some nice size tripletail. Capt. Rick Stanczyk had good tarpon action yesterday mid day on live bait though only managed one to the boat but the action was terrific! Today they caught some nice size mangrove snappers for dinner and had some tarpon and shark action to end the day. Capt. Ben Ekblom has reported a good tarpon bite around the bridges and channels locally. Capt. Dave Morris reported good tarpon fishing releasing 4 fish today too. There are all sorts of options right now and this time of year you really have a shot at catching just about anything in the backcountry.
