Offshore: Strong Wind Warning for today in Sunshine Coast Waters Conditions may be only okay very early in the morning with winds variable about 10 knots becoming south to southeasterly 15 to 25 knots in the middle of the day then increasing to 20 to 30 knots in the evening and seas below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday, then increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the afternoon. Tomorrow's conditions will be similar with winds southeasterly 20 to 30 knots and seas 2 to 2.5 metres. However there have been plenty of quality Spanish Mackerel taken by DIP Fishing Charters. Cougar One skipper Nat Turner took charters on Monday and Tuesday, to North Reef and Chardon's Reef respectively, landing quality pearl perch and Maori cod, as well as squire, moses perch, venus tusk fish and grass sweetlip. There was plenty of bait on the surface and mid water at North Reef. Jew Shoal and Sunshine Reef have been producing quality Spanish mackerel, spotty mackerel and longtail tuna. Spanish mackerel from Currimundi Reef. Spotty and spanish mackerel from Coolum and around Old Women Island. The Gneerings, Caloundra 5 and 12 mile reefs have had a few solid spanish mackerel as well as keeper snapper, grass emperor, spangled emperor, tusk fish and Moses perch.
Noosa: There's been some good catches flathead to 70 cm released, bream, grunter bream, giant trevally and whiting in the lower river. Mangrove jack in Noosa Sound and in Woods Bay area. Mud crabs throughout the river.
Maroochydore: Jew to 86cm in the gutters and headlands around Coolum. There's been a few flathead, bream, grunter bream, trevally and whiting in the lower river. Mangrove jack throughout the river system. Mud crabs throughout the river.
Mooloolaba: Some good catches of dart in the gutters along the Kawana beach. Whiting, flathead and a few good grunter bream in Mountain creek and Kawana Canals. Bream and golden trevally from the boat moorings. Mud crabs in the canals and lower river.
Caloundra: Trevally, bream and tarwhine between the bar and Coast guard Jetty. Flathead and grunter in Bells Creek. This week there have been some good mud crabs throughout the passage and in the creeks.
Marc Horton-Stephens and his son Finn did well taking 2nd and 3rd champion anglers at the Noosa Chasebaits fishing comp. (last Weekend) Finn also caught and released biggest overall flathead. 22 hours Comp..... would do it again tomorrow. Yew 🎣🎣
