Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Oregon Inlet Reef is approximately four miles Southeast of the Oregon Inlet sea buoy. It lies in 80' of water with the upper part of the boat as shallow as 40'. About 300 yards away is another Liberty ship, Dionysus, which was sunk in 1978.
This is a great place to get bait, jig for Amberjack, shark fishing, and other bottom fish. This is also a good area to troll around for kings, but due to close proximity to Oregon Inlet, there is usually someone on it.
Here are a couple of videos from divers.
