Join the Captain and Crew of the Lahela for an exciting, action packed day of fishing. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced angler, you will feel like part of our Sportfishing Team from the very beginning. Prior to leaving the dock, the Captain and Crew will go over your expectations for the day and an explanation of the techniques that we will be using.

As a guest angler on the Lahela Sportfishing Team, you will be involved in everything from planning, to catching bait, to bringing in your prize catch. We will go over your fishing knowledge and experience to ensure a successful day of fishing. We want to make sure your expectations are met, and you come back to fish with us again.

Half Day Charters: Our 4 hour introductory fishing and cruising trip. It is a great way to get to know the Captain and Crew of the Lahela and introduce the family to fishing and cruising. Although we will see and enjoy the beautiful scenery off the east side of Kaua’I we can also teach anglers how to fish for bait such as Mackerel and small Snappers. By leaving later it can be a wonderful Sunset Cruise (Limited Availability, Please Call and Inquire). Typical half-day charters run from 6am-10pm or 2pm-6pm*

Full-Day Charters: Our 8 to 12 hour full-day charters allow us to travel farther and fish longer. On this full-day charter we can venture out up to 20 miles into the Kaua’I channel or we can visit some great fishing spots known to produce plentiful and large fish; such as Amber Jack and Ulua/ GT-Giant trevally.

Night Ahi/Tuna Charter: These trips are 8 to 12 hours long and offered from Late May- September. Typical Trips run from 6:00pm-2:00am or 6:00pm- 6:00am. Monster fish, such as Swordfish and Sharks are sometimes caught and released.

Fishing on the Lahela can best be described as high intensity style fishing. The Lahela has all the latest and best fishing gear on board and it is always ready to deploy at a moments notice. The following techniques are used:

- Slow Trolling live bait

- High speed trolling lures

- Deep Drop jigging

- Nighttime Ahi/tuna fishing

- Daytime Ahi/tuna Hawaiian style bait fishing

 - Reef fishing.
