About Coastwatch

  |  QLD, AU | Views (100235)

Coastwatch was founded in 1989 by Ken "Brownie" Brown as a Queensland coastal info service on Channel 7 Brisbane, the Courier and Sunday Mail, Radio 4KQ and the Coastwatch web site.
Brownie grew up on or in the ocean, surfing, boating and fishing. He is a qualified marine master and engineer and for many years ran marlin fishing charters out of Brisbane, while at the same time working for the media.

His practical experience is what made Brownie and Coastwatch a "trusted" coastal info source. Brownie has recently retired and handed the Coastwatch reigns to long time friend David Granville.
