The state of Florida progressively manages this 8,856 acre top quality trophy fishery. Florida's state record black crappie, 3.81 pounds, was caught here. Talquin provides excellent habitat for largemouth bass, striped bass, blue gill, shell cracker and channel catfish. While you're wetting a hook enjoy her spectacular scenery with many species of plants and wildlife, including wading birds, ospreys, bald eagles, deer, hogs, turkey and alligators. Much of the lakeshore is part of the Lake Talquin State Forest and remains in a natural state offering miles of nearby hiking, horseback, and biking trails. Get out and play!
