Lake Guntersville Has Been Fishing Extremely Well This Year (give or take a few bad days ) The Weather Has Been Mild So Far And Keeping The Water Temps Below 70 Degrees and that has effected the Shad spawn so far. Maybe that’ll happen still but I’m not counting on it. We had a […]

There are groups moving out and groups moving up. Yesterday we had 4 trips and landed over 200 bass. Our best baits are crankbaits and jerkbaits. You can catch numbers of sm...

Yesterday I made a change at about 10 am and we caught big ones every cast. There are several things going on right now. The shad are starting to spawn on the mornings when we ha...

I guided everyday last week and the fishing was excellent. The numbers of fish landed ranged from 28 to 50 per day. The biggest fish we weighed was 6lbs and 14oz. With the full moon approaching I expect another wave of fish to move up shallow. You can catch numbers of small fish shallow right now but all of our bigger fish have been deeper in the...

This March has been one for the ages. We have been guiding almost everyday and the fishing has been phenomenal. The weather however has been unpredictable at times. The biggest bass landed in my boat was an 8lb 14oz fish that was post spawn. Those really big fish ease up and spawn earlier than most think and then they escape the shallows before t...

Guntersville showed out Saturday in the Alabama bass trail event. 29.55 won and there were 22 limits over twenty pounds. 40th place was almost 18 pounds. The lake is full of aquatic vegetation and the current out on the Tennesee river keeps everything active. The forecast this week is for 80 degree temperatures which should move up a b...

Wow!!!! The crappie population has increased exponentially and my guides are catching limits almost everyday. The fish are staging in the prespawn areas a...

This was the week when the water temperatures reached 60 and the full moon is coming. I did 4 bass trips this week and we averaged 40 bass per day. I am catching them deep and shallow and in between. The crappie fishing is incredible at the moment. It was 83 degrees yesterday in north Alabama and the crappie are moving into the prespawn areas and feeding aggressively. The best patterns are bridges, brushpiles and boathouses. We are catching most of our fish tight lining a jig with the best colors being monkey milk and chartreuse/white. T...

Guntersville showed out yesterday at the Toyota series weighin. 30th place is 18 pounds, a dozen 20lb bags were brought to the scales and 27.9 is leading. Not to mention it was freezing cold and the wind blew 20 mph. The dominant baits were lipless crankbaits and Arigs. I just spoke to one of my guides and he has 40 keepers already this morning....

Wow guntersville showed out this weekend. The battle of the brands tournament took 24 pounds to win. There were 10 bags over 20 pounds and 23 over 18 pounds. When the weather gets more consistent the fishing will really get good. I expect a big group of spawners to move up on the next full moon and after that it's going to be fun for months....

December and January consistently yield some of the best fishing of the year. However you like to fish can be productive. There are obviously big groups of fish out on the creek ledges following bait but there is also a shallow bite. The tournament weights in the winter are ridiculous. Anything less than 30 pounds has no chance to win and 20 poun...
