Went offshore in search of a blue marlin today with father and son Justus and Roger from Germany.  Caught a hard fighting 500lb and jumped another nice one off raised another small one that didn’t bite.  Great day and perfect weather.

The Cairns Blue Marlin fishery keeps proving itself as a year round proposition in the canyons off the edge of the Great Barrier Reef.  If you’re looking for some line burning action in calm tropical conditions then Cairns should be on your radar!

My new ride!   The Bounty Hunter formerly Calypso has had a makeover and is now ready to fish.  There is some great action to be had from Cairns as we begin the peak of our light tackle season.  Juvenile black marlin sailfish and Spanish mackerel are here so book your next trip soon.

When the winter weather is as perfect as this there is no place like North Queensland.
