A hopper barge with chicken cages was sunk about 10 miles off Tybee November 18, 2013 as an artificial reef. The 254' barge, donated by Georgia Recyclers, was stacked with 330 steel chicken cages donated by Claxton Chicken. More info on barge

First constructed in 1992 and still being added onto. Over 25,000 tons of quarry rock, concrete and steel Triton missile tower, and 300 tons concrete rubble have been used. This is the deepest reef of the Fish and Game reefs at 165 feet of depth. Good fishing for sand bass and pelagics in the summer months and rock fish in the winter months.

Staggie Reef will break just east of this point, so beware. This reef has a good variety of different fish species, including Pinkies, Sambos, Skippy,  and Yellowtail. Trolling offshore of the reef can produce Bluefin Tuna at certain times of the year.
