This is my favorite time of year to fish!!! When a school of 100 big bass come up feeding near the boat it's incredible. August marks the start of consistent schooling action that will last until the water gets in the low 50s which is around December. I have done many guide trips inwhich we landed over a hundred bass and all of them have been this time of year. I have fished guntersville for 50 years and I have been able to find quite a few places where they like to school. They key is to find areas that fire at different times so you can stay on feeding fish all day. This week we have averaged 35 bass per day and the best baits were a spook and a crankbait.
