Key West fishing report for August 2025 – It’s been a windy summer so far. Some days with SE wind pushing 20 mph. The flat calm days we are accustomed to are a few and far between. This is probably why our inshore waters have had lower water temps than typical for a hot summer. Keeping the water stirred up is a key feature to cooler water temps which by the way, really helps with the fishing. These last few days the air temp has cooled off a little bit, but the humidity still stays strong. Giving Key West that balmy tropical feel that we are notorious for. Key West Fishing Report Across the board, the fishing has been very good out of Key West these past few weeks. Inshore on the backcountry and flats fishing fronts, we have been seeing a good bit of Tarpon still with larger fish in the channels and the babies stacking up around the mangroves. Bonefish are all over the flats with some of the best bone fishing Key West has seen in ages. Of course we have permit too ready to devour a crab.
