Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
There continues to be a Speckled Trout bite after the cold weather we had last week. The kill that everyone has been talking about seems to be limited to the North River area. Hopefully that will be the worst of this winter, and we still have a longs way to go, but the good news is they are still around with several folks hooking up with them this week.
The Sea Mullet and Black Drum are still biting as well. The #18 Buoy, Coast Guard Station, and Beaufort High Rise Bridge have all been producing some nice catches on shrimp. Big catches of jumbo shrimp have been caught right off the beaches between Ocracoke and Cape Lookout as well.
Good Black Sea Bass and Triggerfish bite is still going offshore. A few Vermilion Snapper (Beeliners) have been caught as well.
The big news this week is once again on the Bluefin Tuna. There have been quite a few brought back to the dock over the last week, including some pigs. The best bite has been around the sea buoy at the end of the shipping channel. There were also some reports of action in the Dead Tree Hole area.
