Reminiscing on summer months I was recounting my annual trip to the Midwest’s Driftless Area spring creeks. This past summer I tried something new: mousing for large brown trout. This is an exhilarating method of fishing that unfortunately in Oregon … Continue reading →

Our Access and Lake Waconia in general are pretty wet again. After the overnight rain and mild temperatures we are not allowing permanent fish houses on through our access. ATVs and Side by sides will be allowed for now.  We will let you know when things firm up enough to be able to go out with more than just machines.

I wish all a Happy New Year! The end of fishing year was exciting for a few weeks when the big Tarpon showed up in the back country and on the coast. I spent the holiday in Key Largo fishing with my kids. and a block party for the neighborhood just having a good time. We caught Mutton Snappers Yellowtails Barracudas Cero Mackerels Parrotfish Snook...

Fishing over the weekend was pretty good for most anglers. Numerous 20-inch plus Walleye were caught and Northern Pike were C/R on a couple of the in-close reefs—the majority of the action involved under-slot Walleye and Perch. We are in the process of pulling out the remaining permanent house customers this week. We have established […] The post...

If you like to fish and have ever looked into traditional boat club membership it probably didn't take long to see the major limitations that these programs inherently impose on the ability of members to actually catch fish. Well the game has officially changed -- learn more about the Boat Club that's structured specifically for anglers (not just...

Fishing was definitely slower today. We never found the same sign of wahoo as yesterday. We still had a few nice shots at some quality Yellowtail and Yellowfin Tuna. We will be traveling tomorrow. TEAM RP

I landed this nice size largemouth bass today while jigging.  With all these cold temperatures the ice is thickening all across southern New England.  I got out in the last couple of days and found safe ice in northern RI and nearby MA. The ice seems to be running 3 to 6 inches thick with higher amounts the further north you explore. Today I got o...

Back in Key West for my Birthday back here with the boys and Jersey Transplant Mark. Had a fun filled day with 10 different species today all on light tackle. Did try some deep Dropping but current was ripping too hard. Took the fish to Misohappy in downtown Key West. Had the yellow jack in hamachi jalapeno nigiri sashimi and sushi rolls. The snap...

We have some extreme weather on the way. This weather decreases fishing pressure greatly allowing the bass to feed up for the spawn and get healthy without being fished for. Nature protects itself in many ways and this is one of them. The bass can get into their prespawn areas and add weight so they can endure a stressful spawning phase. After th...

OFFSHORE- Sailfish action picked up a bit this week from Palm Beach to Jupiter Inlet. No huge release numbers; but most boats putting the time in have at least been seeing a few fish. Conditions do look decent for the sails headed into Friday and Saturday. A few dolphin mixed in with the sailfish along with a few scattered Blackfin Tuna. Most of th...
