Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and the most populated city in Australia. Located on the East coast, Sydney is home to the world's largest natural harbor. With easy access to rich estuaries, plentiful reefs and wrecks, and legendary offshore fishing, Sydney is one of the best destinations for anglers in the world.
Fishing the inshore waters around Sydney allows anglers to target many different species of fish throughout the year, including Bream, Flathead, Mulloway, Salmon, and Whiting. On the many reefs and wrecks nearshore you can catch many different species of reef fish, including Grouper, Jacks, Snapper, and Trevally.
Offshore fishing out of Sydney provides anglers with many different species of billfish, including Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, and Sailfish lurking just offshore. There is also excellent Tuna fishing, with lots of Yellowfin, Dog Tooth, and Pacific Bluefin Tuna. Mahi-mahi and Wahoo fishing is good much of the year as well.
