Wahoo, Mahi, and Billfish off Hatteras

Yesterday we went South toward Rock Pile. Inshore of the rocks, in 30-35 fathoms, we lost a nice Wahoo that had another Wahoo cut the leader just a foot from the swivel. Several of the charter fleet caught one.

With not a blade of grass or much of a color or temp change, we found a crab pot buoy floating with some bailers and we caught enough for dinner.

We went out to 125 fathoms looking for the marlin bite without a hookup. Coming back in we heard of White Marlin and Sailfish being caught. There was also a Blue Marlin released.

Overall fishing was slow for everyone, but it was still nice to get offshore.
