Our Galveston Fishing Guides continue to report some amazing fishing out of Galveston, Texas. Water temperatures remain in the upper 80's. Winds have been lite and water clarity has been excellent. All of these factors combined make the perfect recipe for allot of fish hitting the deck. Our Galveston Family Fishing Charter has been the most popular this month. Kids love to catch fish, and we love to take them. This is an excellent time of year for an action packed day of fishing for an extremely wide variety of fish species. Speckled trout, Red Fish, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Drum, Skip Jack, Jack Crevelle, Black Tip Sharks, Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks, Bonnet Head, Hammer Head, Sand Bar Sharks and more are all being caught with our Galveston Fishing Guides.
As the month of August comes to a close, we will begin seeing more and more redfish in Galveston. Big Bull Reds will make their way from the Gulf of Mexico into the passes and inlets of the Bays as they begin their spawn. Mid August thru November is a great time to catch trophy Redfish in Galveston. The fine table fare, 'slot reds' as well as Bull Reds will be our primary target as well as speckled trout and flounder. There are times when catching 40 redfish over 30 inches on a half day Galveston Fishing Charter is easy.
This is the time of year we begin to look ahead for our Galveston Flounder Gigging Charters. We will begin to see flounder preparing for the all famous Flounder Run. As daylight hours decrease, water temps will begin to cool down which trigger the flounder to begin their migration. We are already beginning to book up for the Fall months flounder gigging. If you have never had the flounder gigging experience, we have the perfect trip for you!
