We have had a spectacular summer for fishing in Galveston. We have had many, many customers catch fish of a lifetime on our charters this summer. From catching humungous back bay Galveston Flounder to Giant Sharks that are roaming the Galveston Beach and Jetties - Our Galveston Fishing Charters have put some fish on the deck !
Our back bay Fishing Trips are yielding awesome numbers of some very big flounder. The flounder are feeding on shad that are in the back lakes and bayous - and when they are in a feeding frenzy... hang on - and catch a Giant Galveston Flounder. I am so excited as to how big the flounder being caught are that I can only imagine what the months ahead will bring when it is actually Flounder Season. We will be running two flounder gigging boats this fall, and are expecting a very, very good Galveston Flounder Gigging Season.
We are also catching some very good numbers of redfish and trout on our back bay and marsh trips. Some of the best summer fishing I have seen in years is happening on our trips.
The Galveston Jetties and Beachfront trips are really producing some very good numbers of speckled trout, bull reds and some extremely large Sharks! Probably the most popular and sought after fish among our customers that book a Jetty/Beachfront trips are the line screaming Galveston Sharks that we hook into! Sharks upwards of 9 feet in length are being hooked... not to mention the fish that we never saw because we could not turn them, and they took all of the line of the reel! August is a great month to hook into a Giant Galveston Shark !
Our Flounder gigging trips on Galveston Bay has been good when the water is clear enough to run these trips. Flounder to 24" have been gigged this past week along with some very nice sheepshead and too many blue crabs to count! We will be in full swing for the Galveston Flounder Run this Fall and anticipate a spectacular Fall Flounder Season.... maybe even a record breaker! We are booking for the Fall Flounder Season now, so if you have never been on a night time flounder gigging trip - pick a date and book with the best !
