Despite the continuous winds here on Galveston Bay, we have had great success on our Fishing Trips. We are continuing to catch Giant Bull Redfish along the Galveston Jetties. Along with the redfish, we are hooking up with many Galveston Sharks. These great BIG fish put up a fierce battle for adults and Kids alike! Sometimes we have multiple fish on the lines at once which make for some very exciting, yet extreme chaos to get all the fish in the boat without getting lines tangled! You want some pure saltwater adrenaline - Hook into 6 foot Galveston Sharks - and see the thrashing and twisting as the Giant Shark battles for freedom! Good times on our Galveston Fishing Charters ! Also, we are catching some nice size speckled trout when the conditions allow, as well as some very nice slot redfish alont the Galveston Jetties. Bait of choice has been fresh shad fished on bottom for the Bull Reds and Sharks. Live shrimp free lined along the rocks is the best bet for the specks and reds.
The Galveston Bay and Marsh trips have been producing well for specks, reds and some big flounder as well. Yesterday I had regular customers Tom and his wife Gwen on a Bay - Marsh trip to celebrate Gwen's birthday. We had a great morning on the water, though the wind continues to blow over 20 knots. The marsh allows us to get out of the rough water, and fish the back lakes and bayous where we fish with live shrimp or mullet under popping corks to target redfish, trout and flounder. Yesterday, Gwen caught a Texas Slam! Reds, Speckled Trout and Flounder for her birthday! She also landed a very nice sheepshead.
We are definitely in the summer patterns here on Galveston Bay. The fishing is great - we could just really use a break from the wind. Give us a call to book a Galveston Fishing Charter with us.
