Note the mega bait which took this yellowfin yesterday. The 1.5 to 2 oz mega bait style  casting lure/
jig will catch almost any species on this coast. From bottom fish to all tunas and all members  of
the jack family, it is  the single most effective lure here. I am not sure it will take bill fish, but
then again, I haven't tried it either. I may be surprised.
Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5-6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being at 32 miles: 84°.
Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 84°
One of three, and a very decent sized sailfiah.
Blue water: (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) Blue water from the beach to way out. There are still a few isolated inshore areas with discolored water.
Offshore- The annual July mini-migration of sailfish is going strong. The boats are each averaging 3 to 4 sailfish a day. Adolfo, on the panga Dos Hermanos, got three sailfish for his clients yesterday (Wednesday), with several other boats getting at least two, and up to four sailfish a day. With numbers like this, we are getting more fish per boat than the peak of the season in January. And, with a hundred times less tourists here. This has been happening for the last 4 years now.

Plus, being yellowfin tuna on this coast seem to be late sleepers, with the bite not happening until about 1:00. On the way back to port Adolfo came across a large school of tuna at the 2 mile mark. Yes… 2 miles off the beach. They boated 15 of the smaller 12 pound class tuna.    
The 80 pound plus tuna are still out at the 40-50 mile mark.
Inshore: The excellent roosterfish and large jack crevalle action is still holding up.
Adolfo fished today down at Petatlan for 15 roosters. They were “surtido”. Mixed - from small, medium, to very large.
