South Indian River Fishing Report 11/5

 | By Captain Charlie's Fish Tales Charters on 11/14/2018 7:18:54 PM | Views (294)

Fall weather has finally arrived on the Treasure Coast and it has been nice to enjoy the cooler nights for a change. It has been a hot summer and it is a welcome change! Water temperatures have dropped into the mid seventies and the fish have been biting pretty well for us. The rains have pretty much stopped now and things are drying out fast. Enjoy your November fishing!

I had a chance to take my wife, Eva, out one morning recently. She has been volunteering at church and has been too busy to relax. It was nice to get her out to enjoy a morning on the river. We fished some of the docks in the river and found snapper, jacks and black drum biting. We scouted some places and enjoyed a nice boat ride to end a good morning. Peter and Peter, Jr. joined me on a beautiful morning. We fished docks, channel marker and deep cuts around the river. Pete, Jr. caught a nice pompano early in the day and we found lots of snapper biting around the river. Fishing deeper cuts was good as they found big croakers there and caught enough fish for a good dinner that night. It was a nice week on the water.

Snapper are still plentiful around the docks, channels and bridges of the river. Croakers have been in deeper water for us. Black drum and sheepshead can be found around docks right now. Look for redfish to be hanging around mangroves and docks this time of year. Snook fishing has been good at night or early mornings around bridges and inlets. The Spanish mackerel have been coming in with the tides this week. It's a great time of year to enjoy the water.

As always, remember, fishing is not just another hobby....it's an ADVENTURE!!

Good Fishing and Be Safe,
