Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The backcountry and everglades fishing has been a little up and down though still some good fishing back there. Today we caught a good mix of ladyfish, trout, and snappers. A lot of juvenile fish the big trout are here today gone tomorrow it seems, though snappers are a good bet for dinner we got our limit easily the other day. We used cut ladyfish and caught some big bull sharks today got a nice book snook and gag grouper on pinfish fishing the cape. We found some mullet on the low water on the way home and made a couple throws and tarpon fished the last hour of the day near home and on the start of the falling tide near Islamorada got a nice 60 lb tarpon. The falling tide near Islamorada has worked out well for us with the tarpon the last 4 or 5 days producing a bite to end the day! Capt. Jeff Beeler reported a good snook bite further up the cape though said the sharks were terrible every spot they went so they had to quit fishing for them. Capt. Mike Bassett had a nice tarpon today too as well as some sharks, and Capt. John Johansen reported a big hammerhead shark.
