First offshore trip in 2014 Daytona Beach Florida

This is the way to start the new year. We don't have winter days like this very often so when the weather gods say go fish, we go fish. We left the dock around 7:30 and made plans to go out to the party grounds. During the season we don't fish it often due to lots of recreational pressure. Our goal was to load up on Bonito's so we can start getting our trolling baits ready for the spring. Well we did just that and then some. Soon as we got to our area we dropped 2 planers. 3 minutes into our troll we got our first Bonito. We ended up with 18 which we will turn into bait. We caught 2 kings also on the planer. After about 2 hours of trolling we decided to see if we can't put dinner on the table. We hit the right spots, we finished the day with 14 trigger fish, 15 nice size sea bass, 6 lane and vermilion snapper. We also caught and released a short Cobia caught on the planer, about 20 Red Snapper and a short Amber Jack. We literally filled a 55 gallon can full of fish. It was an epic scene at the marina.  I am really excited about this years fishing season, if this holds out we're going to be eating good all year.
