Tuesdays seem to be the day to go offshore out of Ponce Inlet lately. The seas happen to be very cooperative on that day of the week. Yesterday was no different. We strictly went out to target grouper since the season finally opened. Heading north out of New Smyrna Beach, Florida we motored to about 225 of depth. After fighting our bait through 35 lbs red snappers I finally hooked and landed our first 30 lbs gag. We were basically jumping around in a 5 mile radius from our initial spot where we found our limit of groupers. We ended up catching 6 gags, 2 Kitty Mitchell groupers that we released, one suicidal Mahi, one yellow tail, 15 triggers, and 4 jacks. We topped off both fish boxes with premium fish meat. New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach are premium fishing destination especially for bottom fishing. Book a trip while the weather is sill holding. See you on the water,
