Whiskey Bayou Charters Baton Rouge Crew
A recent trip with the Dexter Blanchard crew out of Baton Rouge. A long run to our first spot produced a great bite quickly, our only problem weeding through the overs to catch slot fish. A short hop and we got back on them catching several, missing a few and releasing the rest before calling it a day.   A great trip with a great crew!  Captain Joe Ezell Whiskey Bayou Charters 626 Florissant Hwy. Whiskey Bayou Charters Tournament Redfish Trail Breakers
A recent trip I was fortunate to make with a pair of tournament redfish trail breakers that were in the game from the start Greg Watts and Bryan Watts. Stephen Rampersad joined the party and we headed out after those Delacroix redfish. We threw artificial all day long and I tried to take the guide hat off and enjoy the day being on the boat with a pair of guys I watched fishing the redfish cup on ESPN when I dreamed of doing it. We caught a few, talked about lure collecting, I learned some tricks from the masters and we all just enjoyed the day fishing together. It was a high water mark in my fishing career and memories were made that I will never forget. It was an honor to be on the boat with the Watts brothers and Stephen. I hope that I get a chance to do it again.
Whiskey Bayou Charters Nine-Pounder
Day two with long-time clients out of Kentucky: Buckley Brown, Kelly Rice Brown, Joe Mitchell and Sherry Mitchell.  The weather was nasty, low water, big winds and rain clouds threatened all day long. Our first three stops produced few fish and I gambled heading south into big water and an area we usually don’t fish on high winds. We found a pocket protected by land and a short run of bank with a grass ledge that “looks right”. Third cast and Sherry boats a nine-pounder. A few later Kelly lands a huge bull and it continued until we called it a day.  I end a lot of my reports with the phrase “A great day with a great crew!”. I have been blessed beyond belief in the short time I have been guiding. Most of my clients transcend customers in short order, becoming much more like family. I left the corporate world and a guaranteed income to chase a dream and salvage my sanity and health. Today I  find myself rich
