Whiskey Bayou Charters Day Two Heavy Wind
Day two for Bill Harrington and sons Tony and Bull started without the storms from Saturday but a heavy north wind made fishing a challenge. They had to be on the road back to Mississippi for 1 PM and the bite didn’t pick up until late. We kept 9 and a flounder for the ride in and released more than we caught but it was a great day with a great crew that were a pleasure to fish with! Note: No catfish were stomped on today! Whiskey Bayou Charters Day One Thunderstorm
Last Saturday started with a crazy thunderstorm pushing through early delaying the start of the first of two days for repeat customer Bill Harrington and sons Tony and Bull. We tried it at 11:30 and fished one spot boating two before another front and lightning forced a run back to the dock. Our second run started at 1:30 and we managed to get 12 in the box before Tony stepped on a hard head pinning his foot through his croc! 😲😲 I pulled it with a pair of pliers and he caught two more sitting on the front deck before finishing their limit! Marathon day started at 4 AM left the dock at 6:30 PM. A great crew that were a pleasure to fish with! Captain Joe Ezell Whiskey Bayou Charters 626 Florissant Hwy. Whiskey Bayou Charters Waiting for Storm to Pass
Last week we helped Captain Chad Dufrene and Dufrene's Guide Service with a charter. Wesley Williams and Mark John from Las Vegas, Nevada were aboard the Majek as we headed out after waiting for a storm to pass. We never found them stacked but stayed on them with steady moves boating 15 reds and 2 bonus flounder before calling it a day. A great crew that were a pleasure to fish with! Whiskey Bayou Charters Fishing Open Water Spots
Last week we had Rylin Dukes and Cameron Woodfork out of Washington aboard the Majek. The wind was down first thing this morning and allowed us to fish some open water spots before it picked up. We got on a steady bite and landed their 10 and played catch and release the rest of the day calling it at 1:00. A great crew that were a pleasure to fish with! Whiskey Bayou Charters Fished Hard Both Days
Two weekends ago we had the Steve Rachal group from central Louisiana in for a multiple boat trip. Captain Corey Gradwohl of Hook & Reel Charters LLC took the second boat Saturday while Captain Matt Reitzell of Marsh Grass Guide Service Co. ran the second boat the next day. We fished hard both days on the backside of a cold front with high barometric pressure and high winds both days. All the crews fished long and hard putting together good catches both days. A great crew that were a pleasure to fish with! Captain Joe Ezell Whiskey Bayou Charters 626 Florissant Hwy. Saint Bernard, LA 70085 504-265-3405 www.whiskeybayoucharters.com/

The first few seconds after a bull redfish takes the bait are hard to forget. The line comes tight the rod loads up and before you know it you’re watching drag peel off the reel as a fish with serious power heads for open water. Bull reds aren’t the...

It's still dark when we leave the dock. The air smells like salt and mud and something alive. The marsh waking up. By the time the sun breaks the tree line we're already running through the backwater the skiff cutting a channel through grass flats th...
