Guntersville FIshing Charter November Guntersville crappie fishing report
The crappie population at guntersville lake exploded when eel grass became the dominant vegetation. The eel grass doesn't die off in the winter like other grasses and it provides a haven for juvenile crappie to survive and flourish. My guides are catching 50-100 crappie on 5 hour trips and clients are keeping all they want. The best crappie fishing right now is in the brushpiles in about 15 feet of water. We are using 4lb test line on a 7 foot medium action rod with a 1/16 oz jig and a Bobby garland type grub. If you want to enjoy this great fishing and take home some fish call 256-744-5185 and I will book you with a USCG licensed guide.
Guntersville FIshing Charter November 4th guntersville bass fishing report
The unusually mild weather is yielding excellent fishing so far this month and I expect that to continue. The first day of the Toyota series championship saw seven stringers over 20lbs come across the scales and 18lbs was 16th. Those numbers are phenomenal for the fall. Most of the fish have moved shallow and they are feeding aggressively. We have been using shad imitating baits and fishing fast the last few weeks. This past week I averaged 40 fish per day and we have caught plenty of quality bass as well. If you are interested in hiring a USCG licensed guide call 256-74-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 26th Guntersville bass fishing report
October has been absolutely spectacular. We averaged around 40 fish caught per day and tons of big fish were caught including a 10.1. As the water has cooled off the fishing has improved exponentially. Tuesday we landed 71 keepers and had 10 fish over 4lbs. We literally caught them nonstop for 8 hours. As the water continues to cool off I fully expect November to be the best fishing of the year. The fish have moved out of the river channel for the most part and they are following shad into the creeks. I have been using fast moving baits to elicit strikes from feeding fish. The crappie are also biting nonstop. My guides are catching 100 per day easily. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 20th Guntersville fishing report
With the cooling water temperatures more big fish are showing up everyday. The last 2 weeks our best 5 fish has been around 20lbs or more everyday. Our numbers are still excellent averaging 30-40 fish a day. The big bass tour at guntersville had some excellent weights and was won with a 9.39 caught punching. The lake is the healthiest it has ever been. Our best baits have been shad imitators or punching a beaver style bait. The crappie have also shown up in a big way and I have guides catching 100 per day. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 12th Guntersville bass fishing report.
The big fish showed up this week. Our numbers have been great for a while but this week our best 5 fish each day was over 20lbs. Our biggest fish was 10.1 and we had tons of 4lbers. The fish have moved out of the river channel and they are roaming and feeding on shad aggressively. Each day I have had to relocate these nomadic schools of bass but when I do they are biting and they are big. I also have guides that are catching 200 crappie per day. If you are interested in a guide trip with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 5th Guntersville bass fishing report
The frog bite is on at guntersville. We are getting about 20-30 blowups per day and the average size fish on Kermit is much bigger than any other technique at the moment. You need a big strong rod and a powerful high gear reel with 65lb test braid. There are a million different colors of frogs but I keep it simple. I primarily fish white or black frogs and sometimes natural green. You will need to find the thickest nastiest grass you can and listen for baitfish activity in the grass. Guntersville FIshing Charter September 19th Guntersville bass fishing report
Last week I guided a client from Chicago every day. We averaged 45 fish per day and he caught his personal best on Tuesday. We did manage to have 1 day with our best 5 over 20lbs. Most fish have now moved shallow and are feeding on shad. Our best baits were spinnerbaits and swimbaits fished around shallow grass. As the days get shorter and the temperatures fall the fishing will improve exponentially. If you are interested in a hiring a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter August 30th Guntersville bass fishing report
Last week I had 5 guide trips at guntersville. We landed 240 bass total and had several nice fish. The fish are quickly moving into their fall pattern and the next 3 months are going to be spectacular. Twice we had 30-40 fish follow a hooked fish to the boat indicating how healthy the fishery is. There is a pretty good frog bite and some big fish are being caught flipping. As the weather cools more and more fish will move shallow and the fishing will keep improving.
