The Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier, nearly a quarter of a mile long, offers visitors close up views of the Atlantic Ocean and anglers access to many species of fish including King Macks, Cobia, Cudas, Sharks, Tarpon, Flounder, Trout, Reds, Bluefish, Pompano, Black Drum and many more. Hours are 6 AM to 10 PM, it offers a concession and bait shop, restrooms, and is wheel-chair accessible. The Jacksonville Beach Pier was designed not only to serve the recreational needs of area residents and visitors but also to withstand the worst that the atlantic ocean can dish out. At 1,320 feet, the new pier is 303 feet longer than the old Jax Pier which was 997 feet in length and approximately 16 feet wide.
