The release from Cannonsville is 699 cfs. Get Trashed in the Catskills was a huge success. The volunteers are awesome and we think we set a new tire record. Today we’re cleaning up after the cleanup so we’ll resume our regular reports tomorrow. The Beaverkill Lower East Branch and Mainstem water temps are still peaking …

When the marsh cools down after summer everything becomes more defined. Shrimp flush from back ponds mullet sweep along current seams and oxygen levels rise in shallow water. Instead of fish being scattered and lazy they concentrate in clear places and feed harder. That makes this one of the most rewarding times to fish Louisiana’s […] The post Ma...

The release from Cannonsville is 631 cfs. It looks like we’re dealing with sun again. There have been some small olives in the afternoon but the best dry fly fishing has been in the evening with olives cahills and Isonychias. Blind casting the riffles could put some fish in the net midday but nymphing or …

Wow last night’s fishing was *incredible*. This had to be one of our best days in a long time. The porgies turned on the jets and took over but what made it even more incredible is that it wasn’t just the porgies. We had croakers and spots mixed in as well. How good was it? July was definitely a hot one! Both bass and crappie concentrated deeper in 8ft to 20ft. Bass were caught on deep crankbaits and plastic worms….primarily around humps ledges and drop offs. The crappie concentrated in brushpiles and were caught on live minnows 2ft-3ft off the bottom. The post July Fishing Report appeared first on Brian Carper Fishi...

Man oh man August has been on fire for the first two weeks.  First it's been a bit breezy making the dog days of August anything but.  It has actually been rather comfortable on the water (for August) making for some nice days.  More importantly the fishing has been on fire.  While most of my charters have been for bonefish and permit quite a few...

Neely Henry is a historical fishery in Gadsden that is full of largemouth and spotted bass (Alabama bass). This week I guided down there several days and it's a lot of fun. We landed 20 fish per day with several nice largemouth and spots each day. The fish are still out on the river and the best structure is water willow and wood. Our best ba...

Lake Guntersville Fishing Report This week brought a mix of puzzle pieces and payoffs on Lake Guntersville. They were around yesterday in the rough water. It's been a familiar theme for me since the early summer. Rough and stormy weather have delivered the good fishing. Calm waters and it has been poor.  I got out yesterday along the oceanfront. It was super windy and rough.  There was a lot of white water in any location where the wind was coming at...
