Most people reported good hatches yesterday.  There are definitely good numbers of caddis.  Some river sections are seeing hendricksons and blue quills while others have moved past those to march browns. The Beaverkill flow at Cooks Falls has dropped to around 1 000 cfs offering some wade opportunities.   Wunderground is showing some rain spread ou...

OFFSHORE: Pretty consistent springtime fishing patterns setting in these days. Weather looks like we could see a little late springtime sailfish pop up this weekend. Solid kingfish bite along the 120' ledge this week. Live sardines and threadfins will be the top baits for the kings but a triple hooked dead sardine on a knocker rig will get plenty o...

The last month in the greater Taupo region has been relatively dry with the lake low and the Tongariro River only getting to 49 cumecs briefly once in the past three months. It normally sits around the early 20s and you can fish it up to around 60 cumecs – in January 2018 it got up to 700. Having no... Read More The post Taupo Fly Fishing Report 7...

A breezy one out there for Chuck and Rena and we did well on the trout. The tide was a weak one today so for sure fire action I said lets do the trout plan. Well it worked out really well and we had a limit by 11am using Lil' Johns. I did make a stop inshore and Rena caught her first snook but just not enough tide movement to get the red fish goin...

The rain got us today but we had some fun before we got wet. I had the Weeks family on board and they had a ball. We started the trip putting a couple nice trout on ice and quality fish as well. I knew we didn't have a bunch of time before the weather hit us so there was enough tide to run inshore and let the team all catch there first snook. The...
