Our Miami "winter" continues to throw some tough weather our way but the fishing continues to stay consistently good and definitely fishable. This week I had Chris on one day and then Tony, Michael and Tony's son Andrew to wrapped up the week. The goal on both trips was to catch whatever we could and did well on a number of different species including yellow jacks, jack crevalles, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper and more. While we did try for snook and tarpon, it didn't work out but the other species more than made up for them.
I wrapped up the week fishing with Paul and Ron and we stuck to fly fishing only. Again, the weather looked threatening but it was actually pretty nice not being as hot as it's been down here. Fishing a few wrecks in the bay they caught short mutton snappers and grouper on fly before we wrapped up the trip bone fishing. It took a while but we finally found some fish and Paul hooked a nice bone that got him deep into the backing. These were two great guys and a great way to wrap up the week. We're expecting a cold front in the next day or two so there should be some nice weather coming our way.
