Well folks, I have to admit November weather has been highly disappointing. As I've mentioned before November weather is usually absolutely perfect but so far this month it's been pretty tough with high winds, cloud cover and all around difficult conditions. In spite of the tough conditions fishing remains pretty solid and most of my fishing has consisted of bonefish and snook. We've mixed it up a little bit with sharks, but most of my clients have wanted bonefish or snook and I have gladly obliged. All my snook fishing has been on top water lures but we have been able to get some on fly. However, it seems like the king tides have returned because this past week the tides have been 3 feet above normal. The challenge here is with big tides the snook will sneak deep into the mangoes making it almost impossible to reach them. However, we've been able to start as early as possible and fish some of the shallower creeks and shorelines trying to mitigate some of the high water. Once the tide has reached a level too high to snook fish, we have switched over to bonefish and generally done pretty well. The best day so far was a two trip day where we hooked a total of 19 bonefish in the morning and afternoon trips and both clients landing 6 bonefish. That was a pretty amazing day and I can only wish each day was like that. Here are some pictures of this past week and stay tuned for more recent reports to come!
