Smaller craft with rocket launchers can have rods bounce out of their holder in rough conditions. To prevent this you can use bungee cords or create your own tie down with heavy leader and a large snap swivel.

If you are going to ride with your conventional rods pre rigged, wrap the line around the bottom of the reel and then back up the first eye. Secure the hook to the bracing on the back of the eye. This way if the lure bounces during travel it will hit the foam cushion on the rod instead of the rod itself.

Planer tricks
