Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Hatteras has long been known as the Blue Marlin Capital of the World, and is arguably the best fishing destination in the United States. With the cold water from the Labrador Current coming from the north and the warm Gulf Stream waters coming from the south, they collide off Hatteras and provide one of the most diverse fisheries anywhere on earth.
Fishing offshore Hatteras offers abundant billfish, including Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish. With the shortest ride to the Gulf Stream north of Florida, you can also catch lots of Mahi-mahi (dolphinfish), Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, and Yellowfin Tuna most of the year. In the winter months you also have the opportunity to catch giant Bluefin Tuna and King Mackerel.
With many shipwrecks, reefs, and the continental shelf off the coast, Hatteras provides excellent bottom fishing. You can expect to catch Amberjacks, Black Sea Bass, and Gray Triggerfish, as well as many different species of Grouper, Snapper, and Tilefish.
Inshore and surf fishing in Hatteras will produce catches of Bluefish, Croaker, Flounder, Red Drum, Sea Mullet, Spanish Mackerel, and Speckled Trout throughout the year. Anglers travel from all over the world to fish Hatteras just for the chance to fight a big bull Red Drum, North Carolina’s state fish. Fishing in the Pamlico Sound can be just as rewarding as a day offshore with the variety of fish that are in these waters.
