Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
There's been lots of action fishing both offshore and on the reef. Offshore the Daytime Swordfish Trips have still been producing fish, not quite as big as last weeks, but still some over 100 lbs. The Catch 22 caught 2 today, and 3 yesterday, (between 50-100 lbs), The BnM released one yesterday and kept a 103 lber the day before, as well as an unexpected 24 lb barrel fish, The Kalex released one broadbill yesterday and lost another near the boat. The Relentless had about 2 dozen mahi each day, mostly schoolies but a few gaffers to 12 lbs. The blackfin tuna bite slowed down as the hump has been taken over by skipjack tuna, which are still a great fighting fish but not as desirable for the dinner plate as the blackfin. The Gon Fishin V has still been doing very well on the deep dropping for tilefish, snowy grouper, and yellowedge grouper too. The reef fishing has been producing mostly yellowtail and mangrove snapper as well as a couple cero mackerel. Today the Miss Islamorada Party Fishing Boat had a spectacular day, catching mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper, 2 big mutton snapper, one was 18 lbs! and to top it off they caught a 43 lb Wahoo!
