Blue Marlin, Blackfin, Mahi, and Wahoo off Hatteras

Fishing is starting to pick up off Hatteras. Yesterday, several Blue Marlin were teased up by the fleet, a few were lucky enough to hookup. Godspeed Charters was fortunate to release two Blue Marlin yesterday.While the trolling has been a little slow as we lead up to the full moon, many gaffer dolphin have been caught, and Blackfin tuna up to 30#s. There have also been a few Wahoo caught.


The bottom fishing has been steady with lots of nice Triggerfish, Black Seabass, Golden Tilefish, and some nice 40 to 50#+ Snowy Grouper.


The inshore bite has still been producing puppy and slot sized Red Drum consistently. Some chopper bluefish have started to show up as well. From the beaches, a steady supply of Dogfish, Skates, and Blow toads are being caught, with a Red Drum mixed in when the stream pushes in. 


After this last blow and cold front pushes through, the bite should really start to heat up.
