Guntersville FIshing Charter Halloween bass fishing report for Guntersville.
The trees are turning orange and yellow. The eagles are getting active and deer are roaming. As we head into November the water temps have cooled into the 60s and the bass are feeding. This week I did 3 guide trips and our average catch rate was 25 while the size is improving. The bass are nomadic right now not holding on structure but rather following schools of threadfin shad. This time of year is when efficiency of functions and sound processes and procedures are critical. I am fishing fast, checking several areas per day and trying to find a group of fish feeding. Best baits this week were a fluke shallow and a crankbait out deep. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 2567445185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 22nd Guntersville bass fishing report: Adjusting to cooling water.
October is one of my favorite months to bass fish at Guntersville. However you have to adjust to conditions to continue to be productive. I see many anglers using springtime techniques that are not productive in the fall. I like to fish fast and move around a lot. The fall is the perfect match for my fishing style. On October 1st the water temp was upper 80s. Now it is about to drop into the 60s. The bass will behave very differently in 60 degree water vs 80 degree water. They are moving hourly not daily. You have to be more aggressive to stay on them. This week I have averaged 25 fish per day and the size has gone up. Best baits have been a spook up shallow and an 8xd out deep. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter October 15th Guntersville bass fishing report: Fall fishing 101
As expected October has been phenomenal so far. The water is 75 degrees which is warmer than usual so I expect this great fall fishing to last through December and right into the prespawn. Yesterday while teaching my client how to cast a baitcaster he landed a 6lber and we ended up with 50. Our best baits were crankbaits out on the ledges and a spook up shallow. Deer season starts today and tournament season is slowing down so the fishing pressure should be a little less which helps tremendously. Guntersville FIshing Charter October 3rd Guntersville bass fishing report: Is this the best month of the year?
October might actually be the best fishing of the year. The bass are feeding aggressively and the crappie are stacked up on the brushpiles. This week I did 4 guide trips and our average catch rate was 40 per day with our best 5 over 19lbs every day. There are 2 dominant patterns: flipping and froggin won the BFL and scoping is the easiest way to catch numbers right now. In October numbers are always excellent but this year size has been really good as well. I have a couple days open on my schedule this month and I have guides available everyday to bass or crappie fish. Call 256-744-5185 to fish with a USCG licensed captain.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 25th Guntersville bass fishing report: my client landed 77 big fish Tuesday!!!
The grass is healthy, current is moving and the stocking program is paying off!!! Tuesday my client landed 77 bass most of which were 3-5 pounds. The bfl super tournament was won with a frog and second place was won scoping. Our best bait this week was a crush city freeloader. The bass are roaming nomadically in the channel following giant schools of bait. Even though you may be in 50 feet of water the bass are only 5 feet down. There is also a strong frog bite that will last until the water gets cold. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 16th Guntersville bass fishing report: Frog Fishing 101
Nothing is more exciting than frog fishing at Guntersville. If you don't like watching a giant bass explode on a frog you need to play golf instead. However it's imperative to understand the details and nuances of frog fishing. Basically you have two scenarios: a thick mat of grass and scattered grass. In the thick mats you want to use a traditional weedless frog on 65lb braid with a 7:1 reel and a big 7ft 6 heavy action rod. You need to make extremely long casts and listen for bream popping to select the correct area. In the scattered grass you want 50lb braid on a 7ft 3 heavy action rod and a popping frog. What you are looking for is an area where bass are waking the surface feeding. I like to keep it simple with colors. Black with a little yellow is a great starting point. White is best if they are feeding on shad and brown is a popular color when bluegill are around. If you would like to experience this with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 9th Guntersville bass fishing report: 50 bass a day!!!
The last week has been phenomenal. We are averaging 50 bass per day and the size is excellent as well. There are 3 patterns producing at the moment. As always the deep ledges are working well, a good frogging and flipping pattern is emerging and schooling fish are starting to show up. The best 3 baits are an 8xd, a black spro frog and a spook. As the days get shorter and the water temperature drops the fishing will continue to improve. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter September 5th Guntersville bass fishing report: 50 bass a day!!!

The deep ledges are continuing to produce, the frog bite is getting really good and schooling fish are starting to show up. The best 3 baits are a 6xd,a black and yellow spro frog and a spook for the schoolers. As the water temp drops into the 60s and 70s the fishing will continue to improve. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 2567445185.

Guntersville FIshing Charter Labor Day weekend Guntersville bass fishing report
Labor Day weekend is coming up and there is already a ton of boats out on the lake. Be careful out there. The fishing for this time of year is the best I have ever seen it. The grass is healthy, the current is flowing and the stocking program is paying off. I guided 3 days this week and our average catch rate was 30 per day. Big fish for the week was 6 pounds with several 4 pounders being caught. 3 patterns are working: Deep summer ledges, frogging and punching, outside grasslines. Our best baits this week were a beaver on a punch rig and a crankbait. The water has cooled down to 83 degrees and as it gets cooler the fishing will keep getting better. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
