Guntersville FIshing Charter July 7th Guntersville bass fishing report
Ribbit,Ribbit!!! Ole Kermit is doing work on the big pond. This week a legitimate frog bite has emerged on the river bank and in the creeks above bb comer. The ledge bite is still very strong and is the dominant pattern. The best baits out deep are a hair jig and an 8xd crankbait. We have had several guide trips this week and the numbers are excellent as well as the size. We are averaging 40 fish a day and 5 pounders are showing up daily. As the days get shorter the fishing will get better and better. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter July 1st Guntersville fishing report
The weather is hot and so is the fishing at guntersville. With the warmer weather and air conditioners running the TVA is generating 35000 cfs and that has the bass feeding. This week we averaged 40 bass landed on 5 hour trips and the size was excellent. We had at or near 5@20lbs every day this week. The main river ledges is where most of the fish have positioned with water temps near 90 degrees. Spoons, hair jigs and big plugs are the best baits to get those schools active out deep. Don't let the hot weather keep you from catching fish. They are biting as good as they have all year. Go by gto or waterfront and stock up on tackle. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185 and I will take care of you.
Guntersville FIshing Charter June 23rd Guntersville fishing report
With the unseasonably cool temperatures and current flow the fishing is incredible. Yesterday we had 3 boats out and my boat landed 50 with a big fish at 5.5lbs,Mikes boat landed 28 with a big fish of 6.4 and Brandon's boat landed 55 with a big fish of 4.5lbs. Most of the fish have made there way to the main river ledge and crankbaits as well as hair jigs are our best producers. A frog bite is also starting to show up in areas with millfoil. My crappie guides are also enjoying the cooler temps and limiting out easily. Go by gto or waterfront and stock up on tackle. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter June 16th Guntersville bass fishing report
We had 3 boats out this morning and guntersville showed out. The big fish of the day was 7.02 and we had 7 fish over 5lbs. The three boat total was 80 fish caught in 5 hours. Most of the fish are out on the ledges and we are throwing spoons and hair jigs. When it gets hot guntersville seems to get better while other lakes get worse. The lake is full of grass and the stocking program has been a great success. When the days start getting shorter the fish will start schooling and that's when it is fast and furious. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter June 9th Guntersville bass fishing report
This week we have guided everyday and the fishing has been excellent. We are averaging 30 bass landed on 5 hour trips. The size is excellent right now as most of my trips have had a 5 fish weight total around 18lbs. Out deep is where the bigger fish are and a 6xd crankbait in chartreuse/blue has been the best bait. There are also fish shallow that can be caught on a topwater bait the first few hours of the morning. Guntersville is full of grass and the stocking program has been beneficial as well. Guntersville FIshing Charter June 5th Logan Martin bass fishing report
I have guided on Logan Martin twice recently and we have caught them good deep and shallow. With bright sun and current the ledge bite is pretty consistent. Our best baits out on the ledges were a Carolina rig and a big crankbait. Early mornings and in low light conditions with no current we stayed shallow with a buzzbait and spinnerbait and were able to get a surprising number of bites and the size was much better shallow. In two days down there we caught about 40 fish and our best day we had 5 fish that weighed 14lbs. Guntersville FIshing Charter June 2nd Neely Henry fishing report
Wow!!! This place is fishing the best it has in decades. It's taking over 20lbs to win every Saturday and the lake is full of healthy 2-3 pound fish. I have guided at Neely all week and we are getting 40-50 bites per day. We are catching an even mix of spots and largemouth. The best baits have been big crankbaits out on the ledges and a green pumpkin jig shallow. This place has tons of structure so leave your light line at home. Neely is power fishing 101. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185. Go by gto and stock up on tackle.
Guntersville FIshing Charter May 27th Guntersville fishing report
Guntersville is one of the most dynamic and challenging lakes in the country. It is widely regarded as the top bass fishing lake in the southeast United States. It isn't easy though it takes hard work and preparation to be successful on this massive lake. Currently we are catching fish out on the tennesee river ledges with crankbaits and spoons. Yesterday my client caught his personal best which is always a special day. On half day trips I am averaging about 20 fish landed. My crappie guides are limiting out in the brushpiles easily. Go by gto or waterfront and stock up on tackle. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed guide call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter May 21 Guntersville fishing report
