Guntersville FIshing Charter March 23rd Guntersville fishing report
This week was all about adjustments and fishing the conditions. Wind kept us off the main lake a couple of days which made it challenging but we were able to catch them every day. The fish are moving shallow and everyday a different bait or different pattern produces the best catches. We have landed 2 over 9lbs so far this year and tons of fish over 5lbs. In saying that is it easy? NO! However if you work hard and fish smart there are opportunities. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 16th Guntersville fishing report
The first half of March at guntersville has been spectacular. As usual this time of year adjusting to the conditions is very important but with the right adjustments it can be outstanding fishing. This last week I had a client catch his personal best only a few ounces shy of 10 pounds. Yesterday we landed 31 and had a best 5 fish at 29lbs. We also had 10 fish over 4lbs. Making the correct changes and staying ahead of the game is the key. If you fish like you did yesterday it's going to be a long day. The fish are in all 3 phases and moving daily. With more stable weather I believe the fishing will only get even better. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 7th Guntersville fishing report
In Saturday's college event it took 29lbs 12oz to win and 23lbs 8oz to get a check. I have been seeing signs of this lake getting back to the glory days and now it's here. The lake is full of grass and the tigerbass stocking program is paying dividends. This last week the fish made a significant move but when we got in the right depth zone it was every cast. After the full moon we will have fish in all 3 phases and several patterns and techniques will be viable. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter February 28th Guntersville fishing report
With the warming weather a large group of fish has moved shallow and the fishing is extremely good right now. The first day of the Toyota series event 72nd place was 15lbs. Those weights are very impressive and will only get better for the next several months as the weather stabilizes. My February trips we have caught 12-20 fish per day with the average fish being over 3lbs. With March approaching we should see some of the best fishing of the year with multiple techniques factoring in. Guntersville FIshing Charter February 21st Guntersville fishing report
Rain and current mean phenomenal fishing at Guntersville. This past week my guide trips were highly successful. One client landed 5 fish over 4lbs by himself. The thesis was fishing current breaks and keep moving until you find an active school. A lot of anglers are struggling right now which I can't really understand but Guntersville is a huge lake that can be overwhelming. We have fished strictly movement baits this week in bright colors that can be detected in the dirty water. I always want to throw something a fish can see. If they don't bite that's ok but if they can't see it that's my fault. If you are interested in a guide trip call 256-744-5185 or visit www.shaneellisfishing.com
Guntersville FIshing Charter February 14th fishing report for Guntersville
The lake is absolutely on fire right now. Warm weather and current have the big  fish feeding early and often. The Bill Lewis Ratltrap tournament results are incredible. 11 five fish limits over 20lbs and 74th place had 14lbs. I guided almost everyday this last week and we caught a lot of big fish on multiple techniques and varied depth zones. This flurry of prespawn activity will continue into March and then we will see fish in all 3 phases. I have fished Guntersville for over 40 years and I don't think I have ever seen the lake this healthy. Every fish is beautiful and their girth is exceptional. At Christmas it was 70 degrees and we were fishing in shorts and T-shirts. A month later we are in a historic cold front. The fishing has been really good on the days the weather allows us to get out on the lake. The water temp was in the mid 50s a...

We have some extreme weather on the way. This weather decreases fishing pressure greatly allowing the bass to feed up for the spawn and get healthy without being fished for. Nature protects itself in many ways and this is one of them. The bass can...
