Guntersville is as good as it gets at the moment. 20 pounds isn't competitive in the 5 fish weekend warrior tournaments. The afternoon 3 fish tournaments are taking 17-19 pounds. As the fishing pressure has increased the behavior patterns of the bass have become more dynamic and inconsistent. Ofcourse there are schools of big ones meandering around out on the creek and river ledges and that's where the tournaments are being won. However there are plenty of fish hiding in uncommon areas simply avoiding anglers. There are also many fish roaming open water that can now be targeted with our electronics. Our best baits this week were a hair jig and a spoon out deep and we averaged 25 fish landed per day with the quality being excellent.
