Guntersville FIshing Charter April 27th Guntersville bass fishing report: They are on the move.
This week has been very productive with numbers and size being excellent. However it's not easy. I am having to adapt to changing conditions and phases daily. The week started out catching fish in less than a foot of water and ended fishing river channel ledges. Guntersville tests your mental and physical skills everyday and to be successful 100% of the time you either get really good or play golf instead. We have averaged 25 bass landed per day and my clients caught fish over 5 pounds each day. We are in a new moon phase currently and next week we will have a waxing moon leading into the full moon in two weeks. If you don't understand the effects of the moon you will be scratching your head looking for answers. Our best baits this week have been a spinnerbait and a crankbait. Guntersville FIshing Charter April 18th Guntersville bass fishing report: Deep, shallow and in between.
Finally some stable conditions yielded excellent catch rates and consistent fishing. This week it has been warm and the water is clearing. We guided everyday and our average catch rate was around 30 per day with the best 5 at 19lbs. This time of year is fun if you like to fugure things out and move around. There are still some fish up shallow around the beds, there are groups of fish out on the creek ledges and there are fish in between. Our best baits have been a swimbait and a crankbait. Everything in the lake is in a spawning phase. Bluegill are shallow and the shad are getting ready to spawn. This is a great time to be out on guntersville to catch quality and quantity. My crappie guide is also limiting out easily. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter April 11th Guntersville bass fishing report.
7 inches of rain. A major cold front and the lingering effects of redcrest. This week was all about adjustments. 80% of the lake got dirty and the water levels fluctuated daily. Monday we landed 37 but the effects of the rain were not in full effect yet. Tuesday and Wednesday we landed 14 each day and couldn't get a bite until we found clear water. Thursday the conditions improved and we caught 50 with a best 5 of 21lbs. They key to getting bit was finding clear water and adjusting to the changes of the spawning phases. We caught fish deep and shallow. Our best baits were a jig and a spinnerbait. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter April 5th Guntersville bass fishing report Redcrest edition
Guntersville is showing out this week for the MLF world championship. This lake is getting more dynamic as the years go by. The shallow bite is incredible and it might be won that way. Scoping is definitely a player and that could win it. Now the surprise to most is that it might be won with all smallmouth and no largemouth. Somebody will take home $300k tommorow and it will be the angler that adjusts the best. My clients catch rate has been excellent  all week landing 18-35 bass per day with several personal best bass landed. The fishing will get better and better as the water warms and the grass grows taller. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 31st Guntersville bass fishing report
Last week we guided every day and the fishing was outstanding. Our average daily catch rate was 25 bass and the average size was 3.25 lbs. The full moon has passed and the water is warming. Fish are in all phases of the spawn and every depth zone has a fishable population from 1 foot to 15 feet. What I really like to do this time of year is find an area along the natural migration route where you can intercept pre and post spawn fish. Yes you can get up around the beds and catch them super shallow but the big groups are more likely to be found out deeper. Our best baits last week were spinnerbaits and swimbaits. I expect April to be extremely good with very high catch rates and excellent size. If you want to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 23rd Guntersville bass fishing report
The last two days my clients have landed a total of 73 quality bass at guntersville. This past week we completed 6 guide trips. The fishing is by far the best we have seen this year. Finally some consistent weather is on the way and it should yield phenomenal fish catch rates. The average catch rate per client this week was 30. The moon is waning so we have fish in all 3 phases of the spawn. There are fish roaming around out deep on bait, there is a group in 9-12 feet in the prespawn phase, there are fish searching for bedding areas and now there is a group post spawn feeding. Our best baits are a spinnerbait and jerkbait. If you would like to fish with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
Guntersville FIshing Charter March 16th Guntersville bass fishing report
It's getting fun out there now that we have had consistent warm weather. This week we had 7 trips and the average catch rate was 22 bass per day with about a dozen over 5 pounds. There are fish roaming around feeding on bait, there is a group of fish in 9 feet and there are fish on bed. Our best baits this week have been a swimbait and a crankbait. The lake is probably the healthiest it has ever been with 20lb bags not even being competitive. As the full moon passes we will have fish in all 3 phases of the spawn which really makes the fishing good. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.

The deer hunters are in the woods and it's too cold for the weekend warriors. The fishing pressure has decreased and the fishing is spectacular. Saturday my client's first bite was a 10lb 4ounce and we landed 50 with a best 5@ 32lbs. The la...

Another cold front has stacked the fish up out on the ledges. 75% of the boats out deep are shaking a minnow which is absolutely a great way to catch them. However I have found if you do something different you can find a bite that hasn't been...

It's no secret what the fish are doing at Guntersville. They are not on any structure at all. They are floating around out in the abyss. Yes they are usually within relative proximity of bait. Love it or hate it forward facing sonar helps track...
