THERE are only 2 days of the year Dally’s is closed: Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both involve eating too much: well eating and family being around and thinking of those important to you. You can slip a little fly fishing in there too while the turkey is cooking if you are close to the river and […]

The first time Ralph fished with me earlier this year we didn't catch bonefish on fly but caught a nice shark instead.  Today he brought his son Alex and the goal was to get him on his first bonefish on fly while Ralph would fish spin gear.  Same as yesterday not long into the trip Alex got his first take from a bonefish but the bone didn't stick....

This last week has been one for the ages. A cold front grouped the fish up in small areas. When you find them it's unbelievable how many big fish are in one area. On tuesday we landed 30 bass and only one of them was under 3lbs. I had clients on a 2 day trip that landed 90. The best pattern has been outside grasslines and shellbeds in 9-...

The bass fishing at guntersville this November was as good as I have ever seen it. Guntersville is a huge and dynamic lake and it's not easy but with the right adjustments we were able to consistently catch them. Shad imitating baits near the outside grass lines were the most productive but there also was a deep bite that produced well after...

Before the trip was over everyone had their 2 fish limit of keeper ( 28 to 38) and slot. (24 to 28). Then we did some catch and release. Tom on the pulpit had a 44 incher to th...
