Skillful anglers hooked a lot of nice fish on Friday’s charter trip!

Apparently its true.  Fish really do bite better in the rain!  We had some happy (and soaking wet) anglers on Monday.

The first stop produced a lot of dogs and some large pollock. A big move in the late late morning got almost every angler a cod and avoided the dogs for the most part.

Today’s anglers were persistent. Aside from the dogfish the catch was steady.

We continue fishing with live bait and having success finding fish for our customers.  Some striped bass are landing in the slot 28″-31″ max  some are too big. The dogfish got us on the first stop but we were able to avoid them after that for the most part. Big cod and lots of cusk today.

Big cod and haddock today. The weather has been great and looks good for days to come.

Anglers are enjoying the beginning of cod season. Sometimes the dogfish force a quick move but nice cod are coming over the rail.

Half day Haddock fishing continues to be productive! There are only a few more half day trips on our schedule for this year. Don’t miss them!

Good weather for a private charter today on the Clipper. Dogfish are dense in some areas some large haddock coming up when avoiding the dogs.

Fishing is being made difficult by the millions of sharks that have moved into the area as they do each August.  However some particularly skillful anglers are doing well.

We had rough weather on Wednesday but if anything it seemed to make the larger Haddock want to bite.  We had a few nice Pollock and a lot of Cusk as well.

Big Haddock  and bigger Pollock are being caught right now.  Although the Pollock tend to be very sporadic.
