¡Bienvenidos, amigos! It’s your favorite salt-crusted captain, Pete, coming to you live from the docks. First off, a huge Happy Fishmas and Feliz Año Nuevo to all my fishing family out there. It’s January 2026, and while I know many of you are back home digging out of the snow or winterizing your rigs, let me tell ya—the o...

Happy Saturday! After another cold night our access has improved enough to allow single-axle wheelhouses to be pulled behind ATVs or side-by-sides. We are still not allowing cars or trucks through our access while it continues to heal. We are also not recommending truck traffic through any access on the lake as ice thickness under the snow is comm...

Fishing Report Month of December Lake Guntersville December on Guntersville can be difficult as it is the beginning of the cold weather and the fish are generally not very active; this December however was very good; the bass were on the move feeding even in the cold water. Catches were good with good numbers and... Read more » The post Fishing Re...

As of this morning 1/2/26 we are still ONLY allowing walking Snowmobiles   ATVs and Side by Sides through our access. We are sad to say that the slush pocket on our frontage is not solid. We are still NOT allowing permanent houses on through our landing because of the spot that needs to heal directly in front of us. We will update you on any chan...

OFFSHORE- Reports have been a bit slow this week offshore. Despite the decent cold front sailfish action never really went off. The general consensus was most boats putting the kites up saw a fish or two with only a few boats getting more than 4 or 5 chances. A scattering of dolphin in 250-400' of water but no big numbers. The wahoo have shown up a...

We are finally allowing ATVs and Sides by sides through our access again. We are not allowing fish houses through our access yet because the slush on our immediate frontage needs more time to freeze solid. Please check our update from the 30th for more general info. We will update ASAP when we can allow houses!

We wrapped up 2025 yesterday with some great fishing - although it was a bit cool at 35 degrees as we left the Sawpit boat launch!  I had met Mark Averbuch his son Jared and grandson Max early to get a fishing trip in the last day of the year - we ran up the intracoastal then up the Nassau to make our first stop up at Seymor's Point - I lost my k...

As of today 12/31/25 we are still ONLY allowing WALKING through our access. Our frontage has not healed at all in the last 24 hours but when walking you can go around the slush. We are looking forward to the cold weather coming tonight.  Getting around on the Lake is totally doable with ATVs and Sides by sides if you go on elsewhere. Please check...

Things started off very slow this morning. We did not see any tuna sign until after lunch. We got into an area and had steady action on Bluefin Tuna for everyone until sunset. We will be traveling up tonight and fishing the coast tomorrow. TEAM RP

This week was excellent weather and fishing but adjusting to the conditions was the key. I guided almost everyday and I saw these fish change their behavior as the water warmed. With the cooler water the bass were positioned lower in the water column but as the water warmed they moved vertically and by Saturday they were just under the surface of...
