Gag Grouper Season 2011

Gag Grouper season is set to open in a few weeks. The season for 2011 will run from September 16 to November 15. The bag limit will be 2 fish per person. We will have a 14 hour trip on Saturday November 12 from 4am-6pm. Reservations for this trip will begin on Monday October 24 . I may set dates for additional earlier trips soon. We have our annual maintenance and Coast Guard inspection coming in September and several charters booked for October, but I will try to work in a couple of 14 hour trips during the Gag season. There will be no 24 hour trips this fall. The Gulf Council will not open a Red Snapper season this fall as they did last year.

Our 4 hour trips have been drifting and catching lots of Grunts, Sea Bass and Porgies with a Legal Red Grouper here and there. The 8 hour trips have been catching the same with a few more Red Grouper and several Gags that we are releasing. The busy season is just about over and there has been plenty of room on each trip, but we still recommend reservations for all trips.
